ASC WEEK 3

For this week, we did quite a number of things. We started our week with working on the business project. We did a touch up on what is required for the project which was either purchase/payment or sales/receipt cycle. We learned how a business works internally. And also because we were required to do a lot of hands on, we learned more practical knowledge on setting up a real business.

Second on the task list was a presentation from one of the MSC supervisors. The objective of the presentation was to learn how to audit the MSC outlets on their handling of cash and how the POS( point of sale) system works. It was quite a “rush” presentation as she had only less than an hour to go through four sets of powerpoint slides. We were then divided into different groups to discuss on the project which starts next week.

Thirdly, ASC showed off their creativity by coming up with various games for the open house. A lot of the students have been working hard on this mini project for weeks! The presentation was a proposal on games for the open house to the lecturers in charge, Ms Jowena Neo & Ms Sharon Lhu. The games were so fun that the supervisors even joined in!

Lastly, the “Puzzle Game” was held on Friday, everyone enjoyed it very much and was eager to answer to try to get more points. The first game was to form a object that was shown to us in a powerpoint slide with 7 different odd shapes. We were all engrossed in solving the puzzle. There were 18 puzzles to solve. Next we were given a distorted or “zoom in” picture to guess, which was as usual RELATED to accounting.  Ms Chew Shu Hwei was nice enough to give each one of us chocolates as a prize, probably for being such nice/good students.

Looking forward to our upcoming activities….
